JIPWEN: http://jipwen.dept.showa.gunma-u.ac.jp. The Japanese Interprofessional Working and Education Network was established in June 28, 2008 by ten Japanese universities who are engaged in health professions education. These universities have been implementing interprofessional education programs, and mostly been awarded Good Practices funding by the Japanese Government.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare, the professional bodies of the main health care professions gather in this council to develop and promote team-treatment based solutions. So far, their main attention is on skill-mix between medicine and nursing to deal with the shortage of medical doctors.
